Bio:
  • Childhood: Growing up in Loudwater as a nephew of Hareth Helbrester certainly has it’s advantages, and Hassan has grown quite accustomed to living an entitled life. Though boring in some respects, his life has thus far been easy. Lots of family close at hand, housing, food, and comfortable living always available.
  • Sentimental Objects: Though there’s no emotional attachment to the item itself aside from its obvious symbol of status, Hassan carries, and usually displays upon his shield the image of a white field with three green falling stars – the insignia of House Helbrester.
  • Personality: Having had a comparatively easy upbringing in Loudwater, Hassan has developed a fairly carefree attitude. Always quick to laugh, eager to socialize, and loose with his purse strings, there is in fact very little that he seems to take seriously. This can lead some people to believe there’s little depth to his otherwise easy-going personality. He’s generally well liked among the city’s populace and works hard to maintain that status both for the sake of his family’s image and for his own desires. Given his experiences in life to date, Hassan can and sometimes does make quick judgements about people based on their perceived social class.
  • Patron deity: Always having been one to skirt by on his raw abilities and a little bit of luck, all it took was becoming aware of Tymora for Hassan to realize that Lady Luck was right up his alley. This introduction came at great personal expense after engaging in some tavern games with a few of Tymora’s more devout followers. After settling his evening debt, buying rounds for his new friends, and convincing the tavern keeper to leave the common room available for the remainder of the night; he stayed until dawn listening to story after story about his newly discovered deity.
  • Skills: Growing up in House Helbrester meant little expense was spared for education and opportunity. Unfortunately no type of learning would stick with or appeal in anyway to Hassan. Ever a social creature he’d spend his time talking and listening with anyone he could. He’d often miss his lessons entirely while picking up the recent gossip from the hired help, the patrolling militiamen, or anyone else he could pry an ear from. It wasn’t until he started training with his older cousin Peldan that Hassan realized he had a head for martial studies if nothing else. Though he continues to train and spar with Peldan on occasion, his cousin has developed an increasing amount of responsibility through the years which left Hassan to seek formal training elsewhere in Loudwater.
  • Enemies: As charismatic as Hassan is, his casual indifference to a lot of things has rubbed some people the wrong way. This has been particularly evident in a few of the weapons schools he’s attended. His raw talent with a blade has often propelled him to the top of his class though he seems to put no real effort to this study. While others train, practice, and study with nearly all of their free time Hassan still ends up the prize pupil. This almost always leads to someone calling favoritism based on his last name. Try as he might to charm his way into the good graces of his fellow students, he nonetheless leaves a few seething in his wake.
  • Allies: With a properly timed compliment, a look, the right amount of coin or drink; everyone in Loudwater is a close friend and ally.
  • Goals: Initially to just have fun and experience life away from the bustle of Loudwater. Hassan is looking for something to do to fill his time. If travel, drink and the clashing of steel is involved, all the better. With a family history in adventuring and the knowledge that he has no logical part in House Helbrester business, no one is standing in his way to see the wider world.
  • Character Growth: Recently Hassan has matured somewhat in his view of the world. Perhaps due to his many run-ins with real and near death, a desire to forge an identity apart from House Helbrester, or possibly his new found sense of responsibility for Jeva. Whatever the cause, he’s now determined to make the exploits of the Company of the Four Winds as successful as possible, seeking to spread the word of both his personal and the Companies heroics far and wide.
